Thousands throng Hazratbal shrine to have glimpses of holy relic

Srinagar, Dec 25 (KNO): The Hazratbal Shrine in Srinagar became a spiritual center on Wednesday as thousands of devotees gathered to mark the Urs of Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA).

A sea of people including young and old came together to offer prayers and seek blessings on the occasion. According to the details collected by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) the shrine, which is of great importance to the Muslim community, was replete with faith and reverence.

Notably, the devotees thronged the premises to have a glimpse of the revered holy relic of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), which was displayed during the occasion.

A local from Sonwar, Srinagar, Mukhtar Ahmad, said that he has been visiting Hazratbal shrine for years to participate in this sacred congregation. “The holy relic sight is soothing my soul and fulfilling my heart,” he said. Interestingly, the annual Urs is to celebrate the life and service of Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA).

His leadership and his commitment towards religion remains a beacon of hope for millions in the world. “To be here on such a blessed day is truly special.

We remember Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA) for his integrity, humility, and devotion to Islam. This congregation strengthens the bond of faith among us all,” added another devotee, Amina Begum. It is worth mentioning, the shrine atmosphere was full of devotion as the prayers echoed through the air, with people from all walks of life uniting in their respect for the beloved companion of the Prophet—(KNO)
